Snow Season Update

Due to limited early snowfall, our winter operations will officially begin on January 9th. We can't wait to see you on the trails! ❄️

Looking for a guided snowmobile tour near Vail that fits perfectly into your day? The Alpine Express 2-Hour Snowmobile Tour delivers big mountain scenery, smooth riding, and a true Colorado winter experience all without committing to a full day. You'll get convenient hotel pickup in the Vail and Beaver Creek areas along with options for all the gear you need.

Led by experienced local guides, this tour takes you into Camp Hale, a stunning alpine valley in Eagle County surrounded by snow-covered peaks and rich military history. After a quick safety orientation and riding tips, you’ll head out on well-maintained trails designed for comfort, confidence, and fun. You’ll cruise across open snowfields, wind through quiet forests, and gradually climb to higher terrain. Guides adjust the pace to match your group, whether you prefer a relaxed scenic ride or a more spirited adventure. Along the way, you’ll stop at iconic viewpoints like Machine Gun Ridge and Ptarmigan Pass, where sweeping views of the Gore and Sawatch Ranges stretch in every direction.

This tour is beginner-friendly and ideal for first-time riders, families, and anyone wanting to try snowmobiling in Vail without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. The snowmobiles are modern, easy to handle, and equipped with heated handlebars, keeping you warm and comfortable even on colder days.

In just two hours, you’ll experience wide-open alpine terrain, peaceful winter landscapes, and some of the most scenic snowmobiling near Vail. No prior experience is needed, just a sense of adventure and a love for the mountains. Plus, you can return to a warm lodge for cocoa or food to enjoy before returning back to your hotel.

If you’re short on time but want a real taste of Colorado’s backcountry, this 2-hour Vail snowmobile tour is the perfect way to get out, explore, and make unforgettable winter memories.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need snowmobiling experience?

No, this tour is designed for beginners and includes full instruction.

Can kids ride?

You bet! Kids must be 5 or older. We recommend ages 9 and up, but it is up to the parent's discretion. As long as kids can hold on and not fall asleep, they should be good to go! We definitely recommend a shorter tour (2 hours) vs. the half day or full day if you have kids along.

What should I wear?

Dress in warm winter layers, waterproof outerwear, gloves, and boots.

Are rentals available?

Yes, goggles, gloves, and snow suits are available to rent on-site. You're welcome to bring your own snow clothes, goggles and gloves as well.

What if the weather is bad?

We operate rain or shine as long as the guides deem the conditions safe to ride. Tours may be rescheduled or refunded due to unsafe conditions.
