Description

Imagine a few hours of real mountain adventure. This four-hour snowmobile ride is your ticket to an exhilarating experience in Colorado's backcountry. You'll start from Camp Hale, a wide-open valley surrounded by snowy peaks, then ride out on groomed trails that wind through the White River National Forest. It's quiet out here except for the hum of the sled and the crunch of snow under your skis.

And the best part? You don't need to be an expert to enjoy it. The snowmobiles are easy to handle, and before you head out, you'll get a short safety talk and a map showing the best routes for your experience level. Once you're on the trail, you can take it slow through the trees or open it up on the straight stretches. The ride takes you to spots like Machine Gun Ridge, Resolution Mountain, and Ptarmigan Pass — all known for their breathtaking views and vast, open snowfields.

When you stop and cut the engine, you'll notice how still it is. The air feels sharp and clean, and all around you are mountains that seem to go on forever. On a clear day, you can see across the Gore and Sawatch Ranges and even trace the line of the Continental Divide.

The best part is the freedom. You're in control, setting the pace, choosing your route, and deciding when to stop for photos or take it all in. It's four hours of fresh air, wide-open country, and that feeling you only get when you're deep in the mountains — just you, the snow, and the sound of the engine.
