Description

You’ll start this two-hour Side-by-Side tour with a quick safety talk and an easy lesson on driving the vehicle. Don’t worry if you’ve never done it before — most people haven’t. Once everyone’s comfortable, we’ll head out on the trail and you’ll get a feel for the open terrain right away.

The ride takes you through Camp Hale, a broad valley surrounded by tall mountain peaks. It’s one of those places that still feels wild and untouched. You’ll see old training grounds where the 10th Mountain Division once prepared for World War II. Your guide will point out a few historic spots and share stories about the soldiers who trained here in the snow and at high altitude.

As we climb higher, the views open up in every direction. On a clear day, you can see four mountain ranges and even spot Colorado’s two tallest peaks — Mount Elbert and Mount Massive. We’ll stop a few times along the way for photos and to take in the scenery. It’s hard not to sit for a minute and soak up the silence and mountain air.

The terrain is a mix of open meadows, forest trails, and gentle climbs, so it’s great for beginners and families. You’ll feel the rumble of the engine and the cool breeze as we ride, but it never feels rushed or extreme — just a fun, safe way to explore the backcountry.

By the time we loop back, you’ll have covered a lot of ground and seen some of Colorado’s best mountain scenery, all in just two hours.
