Description

Glide across Dillon Reservoir on a relaxed half-day tour that offers a peaceful escape into nature, bringing you close to small islands, quiet coves, and open mountain views. You’ll paddle in the protected waters of Frisco Bay, where calm conditions help beginners settle in quickly. With a guide setting the route and pace, you can focus on the scenery and enjoy a soothing, simple paddling rhythm.

This half-day experience is designed to be easy and accessible for anyone wanting a straightforward way to explore one of Summit County’s most beautiful alpine lakes. You’ll start at a central meeting point in Silverthorne, where your guide outfits you with a paddleboard, paddle, PFD, and a clear overview of stance and technique. The instructions are simple and friendly, perfect for first-time SUPers. After gearing up, a short shuttle takes you directly to the reservoir, making the transition from land to water quick and stress-free.

On the lake, you’ll follow a gentle route through the small islands and sheltered shoreline of Frisco Bay. The steady water here creates a calm setting, ideal for learning and enjoying the board's movement. The open views of the Tenmile and Gore Ranges surrounding the reservoir evoke a sense of tranquility. You might spot osprey overhead or fish moving beneath you, but the overall atmosphere remains peaceful and inviting.

Guides check in often, adjust the pace, and offer tips when needed. The aim is to keep the group comfortable and confident throughout the tour. Once the lake portion wraps up, the shuttle brings you back to the meeting point, where you can change into dry clothes before heading out.

This half-day experience gives you a clear, simple, and enjoyable way to spend time on Colorado’s mountain water without crowds or complicated planning. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing suitable for water activities, bringing sun protection, and arriving with a positive attitude, ready to explore.
